What is a Victory Garden? During World Wars I & II the government asked citizens to plant gardens in order to support the war. Millions of people planted front and backyard gardens. Today Victory Gardening is known as Urban Farming and people are planting their own food to supply their families with superior nutritional and safe food, save money and, to help the environment by not purchasing food that has traveled long distances to be placed on our tables.
