The time is NOW to plant your cold weather vegetables!! Did you know that you can plant and enjoy an entire crop of vegetables before the traditional Mother's Day planting? Vegetables like radishes, carrots, lettuce, spinach, onions, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peas, and more LOVE and need this cool weather to thrive. They are planted in the spring and fall. Before and after your tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, and squashes. Some can be replanted all year - like radishes- which can be harvested each month! So, plant the seeds and get the plants into the ground. Stop by the shop and we will get you started and help you along the way. Start growing, harvesting, and serving your family the freshest, healthiest, and as local as you can get meals! Make it a family affair. They will love you for it!

Upside Down Gardening! Do It Yourself!
Tomato Update:Creative Commons,Some Rights Reserved,Photo by kkimpel
Topsy Turvy's were all the rage a few years ago but last year we were left with a huge pile at the shop (they are still available for a deal). The thing is they really are a good thing. When the ground is full there is no place left but to go up. Plants are less susceptible to mildew and critters on the ground, and harvesting your edibles are a snap! No bending down! I think I will give it a go this year on the side of my garage.
Follow this link for a complete how to guide to make your own. NOTE: We recommended organic when ever possible IE: soil, fertilizer, pesticides :-)
